Short company description

Scandinavian Villas & Apartments is a registered Company Limited founded by Baard A Westlund, in close cooperation with Scandinavian co-workers residing in the island of Koh Samui, Thailand. We have all been living in Thailand for several years and has built a wide network of serious business partners. Our absolute goal is the make Scandinavian Villas & Apartments a supreme quality living concept in beautiful Thailand. "Quality, Safety and Security" is our motto!

Why the name "Scandinavian Villas & Apartments"?

The name refers to us (see below) as being Scandinavians. All nationalities are, of course, more than welcome to purchase a villa or apartment. The name is also referring to our top class "European/Scandinavian" standard and quality.

Baard was born 1966 in the Norwegian town Sarpsborg. He and his family has a genuine background in the construction business. His father and grandfather were both building contractors and entrepreneurs. Baard started his working career when he was 17 years old and has worked ever since. He has completed a six year education within the field Technical Operation and Maintenance (Bachelor Degree). He did his military service in the Norwegian Navy. He has worked many years as the Chief Engineer on some of the largest cruise ships in the world, where he is in charge of the operation and maintenance and all technical installations onboard. He controls a work force up to fifty persons and is responsible for a yearly budget in excess of USD 18 Mill.

After many years in international shipping, he found his personal paradise on the tropical island of Koh Samui and decided to move down here in the year of 2000. His goal is today to offer Top Quality Products, with the highest standards, but still to a reasonable cost for the customer.

Patrik Sahlin
Catering and Operation

Patrik has lived on Koh Samui for several years and runs the popular restaurant El Dorado at Lamai beach.

Jens and Rawadee are both living on the island of Koh Samui. They have produced several web sites with information about Thailand and tourism. One of these are; Kohsamui.org, which has been online since 1999, and is one of the most visited web site about the area. Rawadee also have a computer shop on the island, which provides computer equipment for inhabitants and businesses ( Rawadee Computer Shop ). All customers living in Scandinavian Villas & Apartments, gets 10 % discount in this shop.
