We are
using a 3rd generation Architect & Construction firm with roots
from
Belgium that was established in 1932. This to ensure that we get a
product
with high Western Standards and excellent quality. The Senior
Management,
Father and Son, are both from Belgium.
The firm have about 600 Thai
Employees in addition to 10-15 European Supervisors and Foremen. The
firm
is well known for their high quality products, exceptional standards
and
timely deliveries. They are always using top quality building materials
and unique building techniques to ensure timely deliveries to their
customers.
This firm is highly respected within the building/construction society
on Koh Samui and they have already completed numerous projects on the
Island.
They have their own huge machine
park, something that guarantees a smooth building process and prevents
delays.

regarding
a couple of their products:
Concrete
blocks
We
manufacture the concrete blocks using a Norwegian system for
production.
This allows us to specially produce u-shaped blocks for beams above the
windows and doors and ensures quality control and availability.
Here are some of the advantages
in using this BasisBlokk System:

ducts and electricity are easily integrated with the vertical pipes
within
the blocks.

Roof
Structure
The
roof structure is constructed from Lysaght Hi-Ten steel and is coated

together,
not welded and fabrication process is computer controlled.

ceramic roof tiles we use are designed to last twice as long as others.
We utilize a computerized system that not only draws the roof plans,
but
cuts the roof structure to a mathematical precision, taking a fraction
of the time for assembly.
We also use a laser-leveling
system, ensuring the walls and floors are exact and straight. In fact,
a crane simply lowers the roof structure onto the concrete posts, and
from
there on it can be bolted into place. Normally such work would take
weeks,
but in our case it takes only days to complete this part of the
project.
There is a 10 year guarantee included for the roof structure."

construction
regulations in Thailand are quite broad and flexible so there can be a
huge difference between the quality/standards in approved Apartments,
Houses,
Buildings and Projects. There is a huge span between the products that
are available in the marked. You should keep this in mind before you
make
your decision and places any orders.
All pictures are random and
quite representative for the situation in the Real Estate market in
Thailand.
One set of the pictures shows the product delivered and constructed
from
the Architect and Construction firm that "Scandinavian Apartments" are
using and the other set are from other assorted projects on Koh Samui.
They are not the worst, or
the best, examples you can find. They are just a random selection in an
effort to visualize the situation. These pictures shows only a few of
the
areas where you need to be aware. There are numerous others and some of
the you cannot even see by your own eyes. I.e.: quality and the
specification
of the concrete and reinforcement steel used.
We hope that this small presentation
will increase your awareness,
broaden
your knowledge at the same time as it will hopefully save you
some
money. You must focus on top quality all the way from the beginning.
Top
quality can only be achieved by using a professional construction firm
that has a lot of educated/skilled employees working for them.
Ask to see examples of their
products before you make your final decision.
Make
sure that you see their products also in the early construction phases
and not
only the final product. Focus on the core/root quality and not only
the cosmetics.
